EU/MEeting on Metaheuristics for Applications
Sept. 28-29, 2015 - Madrid, Spain
we cordially invite you to join us for the 2015 EU/MEeting on "Metaheuristics for Applications", the official (16th) meeting of EU/ME, the metaheuristics community in Móstoles (Madrid), Spain. The conference will be held September 28th – 29th, 2015. More details can be found at http://eume15.sciencesconf.org/. As always, participation in the 2015 EU/MEeting is a free of charge, but for logistic issues, early registration is encouraged.
Contributions, submissions, workshop publications
Metaheuristics (MHs) are among the most prominent and successful techniques to solve a large amount of complex and computationally hard combinatorial and numerical optimization problems arising in human activities, such as economics, industry, or engineering. MHs can be seen as general algorithmic frameworks that require relatively few modifications to be adapted to tackle a specific problem. They constitute a very diverse family of optimization algorithms including methods such as simulated annealing, tabu search, genetic algorithms, ant colony optimization or variable neighborhood search.
The main objective of this workshop is to take a step ahead on the solution of some complex real-world applications by means of metaheuristics. In particular, we expecting papers related to groundbreaking challenging optimization problems that are now considered to be beyond the current state of the art.
Application areas include, but are not limited to: scheduling in computer and manufacturing systems; logistics, transportation and vehicle routing; bioinformatics, electrical and mechanical engineering, optimization in graphs; telecommunication, finance and banking; combinatorial optimization problems; constraint satisfaction problems; vector optimization/multi objective optimization, etc.
We invite abstracts/extended abstracts/short papers describing recent advances of metaheuristics. Both theoretical and practical/experimental research contributions are welcome.
When submitting your work, please make use of the formatting instructions/the provided on the workshop website. (Extended) abstracts/short papers of at most 4 pages are welcome.
All accepted submissions will be published in the workshop proceedings. An electronic version of the proceedings will be made available at the workshop, and an ISBN will be issued for the conference volume.
The workshop will take place on the “Campus de Móstoles” of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Móstoles (Madrid), Spain.
The campus is located 15 km northwest of the city of Madrid. It covers an area of 44 hectares and it is well connected with Madrid, other nearby destinations, and other University Campus (Alcorcón, Fuenlabrada, and Vicálvaro). This means that you may want to consider staying in Madrid (in order to maximize your city experience) or in Móstoles (close to the conference venue).
Submission deadline: 06/09/2015
Notification of acceptance: 11/09/2015
Workshop: 28 – 29/09/2015
