of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Coleophora trifariella Zeller, 1849

An  uncommon species in Belgium, but as with many members of this family, it's often overlooked.

The larva lives in a untidy lobe case, made from large leaf particles. It makes fleck mines on Chamaecytisus, Coronilla, Cytisus, Genista, Laburnum, Lembotropis and Spartium Pupation in the case.

The adults fly in June and July.

Belgium, Namur, Bohan, 10 April 2010.
