of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Pediasia contaminella (Hübner, 1796)

A rather local and rare species in Belgium, more recorded in the sandy areas of the north.

The larva lives in a silken tube at the base of several species of Poaceae, like Festuca ovina.

The adults fly in July and August. They come to light.
