of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Epermenia falciformis (Haworth, 1828)

A rather rare species in Belgium.

The larva of the first generation lives in spun leaves of Angelica sylvestris or Aegopodium podagraria. That of the second generation lives in the umbels of the same plants. Pupation takes place in an open network cocoon amongst detritus on the ground.

The adults fly in two generations a year; in June and July, and again during August and September.

Belgium, Limburg, Kinrooi, 28 August 2004.
