of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Brachmia blandella (Fabricius, 1798)

A rather rare species in many parts of Belgium. Most of the records are from the northern provinces.

The larva lives on Ulex europaeus. It hibernates in an early stage in a slight spinning on the foodplant.

The adults fly in July and August. They come to light.

Belgium, Limburg, Kinrooi, 23 June 2005.
