Aethalura punctulata ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

A rather common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives on Betula, but it has also been recorded on Alnus glutinosa. Hibernates as a pupa underground.

The adults fly in one generation a year; from mid April till late June. They come to light.
