Micropterix aruncella (Scopoli, 1763)

A fairly common species throughout Belgium.

The larva has been found on the tender, young growth of herbaceous plants. It hibernates. The imago feeds on the pollen of many herbaceous plants, also especially on Crataegus.

The adults fly from early May till August. They are active during daytime.
