of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Ectoedemia decentella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1855)

A rare species in Belgium.

The larva makes a mine in the seeds of Acer pseudoplatanus. It pupates in a cocoon spun on the trunk of the host tree.

The adults fly in two generations: June and August. They rest on the tree trunk and come to light.
