Ectoedemia subbimaculella (Haworth, 1828)

A common species in Belgium.

The larva makes a fine gallery leading to a blotch close to the midrib of a leaf on Quercus. Pupation in a cocoon spun on detritus.

The adults fly from lae May till the end of July. They rest on the tree trunk and come to light.
