Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Archanara dissoluta (Treitschke, 1825)

A local and rare species in Belgium, mainly recorded from the northern part.

The larva lives on Phragmites australis. Hibernates as an egg and pupates in a stem of the food plant.

The adults fly from mid June till early September in one generation. They come to light and less to sugar.

ID: The frequent form 'arundinetta'  can be confused with A. neurica, but the latter has central spots on the underside of the wings.
