Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner, 1808)

An irregular and scarce immigrant. Most observations in the nort of the country.

The larva lives on a variety of herbaceous and cultivated plants like tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) and Pelargonium and can become a pest. The species is not be able to overwinter.

The adults have been observed from March till December, but recorded mostly in the autumn. They are active during the day and also at night and later come to light and sugar.
