Noctua pronuba Linnaeus, 1758

A very common species throughout Belgium.

The nocturnal larva lives on different species of herbaceous plants and Gramineae. Hibernates as a larva underground.

The adults fly from in one protracted generation a year; from late May towards early October. They come to light and sugar.
