Notodontidae

The Notodontidae include about 3000 species and is distributed in all major zoogeographical regions. Pygaerinae include only the genus Clostera with 43 described species in all the main zoogeographical regions. The composition of the Notodontinae, with at least 200 species, the Phalerinae and the Heterocampinae remains uncertain (Scoble 1992: 331).
