Sterrhopterix fusca (Haworth, 1809)

In Belgium mainly observed in the Kempen and in the south of the country.

The larva lives in a silken case made with plant material on grasses and shrubs. Its development takes two years.

The adults fly in June and July. The female is apterous and usually stays in the case.
