Aglossa pinguinalis (Linnaeus, 1758)

A widespread species in Belgium, but not often observed.

The larva lives in a silken gallery on dead and decaying vegetable matter. It pupates in a cocoon in the larval habitation.

The adults have been observed from late June till early September. They come to light and sugar.
