Mimas tiliae (Linnaeus, 1758)

A common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives mainly on Tilia, but has also been observed on other deciduous trees. Hibernates as a pupa underground.

The adults can be seen from mid April towards July in one generation a year. They come to light.
