Morophaga choragella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

A fairly common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives on several species of fungi, especially on Piptoporus betulinus, also in dead wood. It hibernates. Pupation takes places in the fungus or wood.

The adults have been observed from mid May till the end of August. They come to light.
