of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Niditinea fuscella (Linnaeus, 1758)

This rare species is not so often observed in Belgium, and most of the observations are older records. It has his stronghold in the province of Antwerpen.

The larva lives in birds nests, on feathers, animal fibres and stored vegetable materials.

The adults have been observed from beginning of May till end of October. They come occasionally to light.
